God — Immutable, Indomitable — Immovable, Infallible

In an increasingly inconsistent world, followers of Jesus are blessed to believe an infallibly consistent Word. A constantly changing culture necessitates a courageously unchanging Christianity. An ever-evolving globe requires an immutable and immovable God. As we observe the modern ministry milieu that 7th-12th graders are immersed in, we learn that our attention spans are shorter than ever, and our heartbeats are high than ever. Our ability to trust, endure, persevere, and abide has never been slimmer, and our depression levels, anxiety statistics, comparative proclivities, and body image issues have never been bigger. This epidemic of unreliability and tragedy of undependability leaves all creation groaning for a God that never changes with a love that never wavers, a truth that never compromises, and a grace that never forsakes. Fads come and go, but faith stays and grows. Circumstances change, Christ remains the same. Our situation may shift, but our Savior stays. Our society is ever-vacillating, but our scripture is ever-veracious. Our vocation may vary, but our verses will never. There may be differences in our dialect from one generation to the next, but there is no differing to Christ’s Deity. The method mutates, but the message, the mission, the Maker and the Messiah is immutable. The more that we look to our self for validation the more anxious and afraid we become, but the more that we look to our Savior for vindication the more amazed, astounded, astonished, and assured we become. If we focus on our surroundings and fixate on our shifting situations we implicitly become more stressed, but if we focus on our steadfast Savior and fixate on our super-natural Scriptures we inherently become more surrendered. This is because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In view of this eternally enduring epiphany, our theme for Teen Revolution this summer is “Same God.” The God of the Old Testament is the same God that we see in the New Testament, the God of the forerunners of our faith previously is the same God we fervently run to presently, and the God who was, is the same God who is, and the same God that evermore will be.

The chorus for our 2025 Teen Revolution spoken word piece exclaims, “Everything is worship, and worship is everything:  all my life and all my love at the feet of my King. Your Word and Your will over my desires, my dreams. Everybody everywhere, every person, every teen, every prodigal, every place, every practice, everything catalyzed and compelled by the King of every king. In one conglomerate chorus, we courageously sing, ‘You can have every position, every pleasure, every pulse — Every Thing.’”
