Jesus is not just a thing–He’s everything. In Christ we are not solely awarded or simply afforded certain things; rather, in Him we are given, graced, and granted everything. Therefore, the question presented to the 21st century teenage follower of Jesus is not whether or not He has given everything for us and given everything to us; rather, the question is, “Have we given everything for Him and given everything to Him?” In an increasingly compartmentalized cultural context and observably segmented societal setting, the contemporary and current Christian has accidentally leveraged and left Jesus, attending church and carrying out the great commission as “a thing” nestled amongst and lodged between multiple other things. Resultantly, our hope and heartbeat is to see students transition from that errant ideology into a novel and newfound perspective, wonderful and worshipful worldview, and magnetic and momentous mindset where Jesus is no longer “a thing” but He is “everything.”
The chorus for our 2025 Teen Revolution spoken word piece exclaims, “Everything is worship, and worship is everything: all my life and all my love at the feet of my King. Your Word and Your will over my desires, my dreams. Everybody everywhere, every person, every teen, every prodigal, every place, every practice, everything catalyzed and compelled by the King of every king. In one conglomerate chorus, we courageously sing, ‘You can have every position, every pleasure, every pulse — Every Thing.’”
